Metztli Privacy Policy

The short version

Metztli does not collect, store, or share your personal data. Everything the app shows you is computed on your device, and everything you create in it stays on your device.

What the app accesses, and why

• Your device calendar (READ_CALENDAR / WRITE_CALENDAR). Metztli reads events from calendars on your device to display them, and writes events you create or edit. This data never leaves your device through Metztli. We have no servers that receive it.
• Calendar feeds you subscribe to (ICS). When you add a calendar subscription, the app fetches that feed directly from the URL you chose, from your device. The feed publisher will see an ordinary web request from your IP address, as with any download. Metztli adds no identifiers to these requests.
• Files you import or export (.ics). Import and export happen only when you pick a file, using Android's system file picker. The app has no general file access.
• Reminders (notifications and alarms). Event reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
• Other POCA apps. If a POCA content pack (PAC) is installed, Metztli can read the calendar configuration and glyph art it publishes. This exchange happens entirely between apps on your device and is protected by a signature-level permission, so only POCA-signed apps can take part.

What we do not do

• No accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
• No sale or sharing of data — we never have it in the first place.

This website

metztli.poca.org is a static page. It runs no analytics and sets no cookies. The moon phase and day-sign shown here are computed in your browser. Standard web-server logs (IP address, request path, user agent) are kept briefly by our hosting for security and debugging, as with virtually every website.

The Metztli Moon Calendar feed

If you subscribe to https://metztli.poca.org/moon.ics, your calendar app will periodically fetch it from our server. Those fetches appear in the same standard server logs described above and are not linked to any identity.

Children

Metztli does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
